Nivesh Sahayak Bank ReconciliationFree bank reconciliation: match bank statement with books

Free bank reconciliation

Open the bank statement from net banking and see in a minute which entries match your books, which are only in the bank (charges, interest, direct transfers) and which are only in the books (cheques not cleared). Print the reconciliation statement. No login, the statement never leaves this browser.

How to reconcile your bank here

  1. Download the statement. From net banking, as Excel or CSV, for one month. Or type the lines from a passbook.
  2. Open it here. The tool finds the date, details, cheque number, withdrawal, deposit and balance columns by itself.
  3. Check the matches. Lines with the same amount are matched with your saved entries, cheque numbers first, then the nearest date.
  4. Deal with what is left. Add bank charges as an expense, add money received from a party, or match a line by hand.
  5. Mark cheques cleared. Cheques found in the statement are marked cleared on the bank date with one press.
  6. Save and print. Type the closing balance from the statement; the difference should be zero. Save, print or share the statement as a PDF.

What it does for you

Your data stays with you

Everything you type is kept in this browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded to us. Your businesses, customers, suppliers and items are shared with the other Nivesh Sahayak document tools through my.niveshsahayak.in, so details you saved while making an invoice or a quotation are already here as suggestions.

Keep a backup. If the browser's data is cleared, saved work in it is gone. Open My data (top of the page) and press Save a backup file now and then. One file holds every document, customer and item, and restores them on any other computer or phone.

Guides

Questions people ask

Is my bank statement uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read inside this browser. Only what you save (dates, details and amounts of the lines) is kept in the Nivesh Sahayak data home on this device.

Which banks does it work with?

Any bank that lets you download the statement as Excel or CSV, which is almost every bank in India. If a column is read wrongly, choose the right one under Columns of the statement.

Can it read a PDF statement?

Not yet. Download Excel or CSV from net banking instead, or type the lines by hand.

Why is a cheque I deposited shown only in my books?

It has not been credited by the bank by the statement date. It will appear in the next statement; if it does not, it may have bounced.

What should the difference be?

Zero. If it is not, look for an amount typed wrongly, an entry made twice, or a line from another month.

I have two bank accounts. Can I reconcile both?

The books in Nivesh Sahayak keep one bank account per business today, so reconcile the account you use in the App. A separate account can be kept as a separate business for now.
